Waterline

Waterline is an adaptive reuse project located in an expansive industrial warehouse property in Santa Barbara’s burgeoning Funk Zone. Originally built on the rubble of the historic 1925 earthquake, over the ensuing 90 years the property has been home to a bevy of industrial uses before being freshly re-envisioned by the Miramar Group as a community-centric destination for food, beer and wine and works and wares created by local artisans and skilled craftspeople.

Logo Solution:

Close to the water’s edge in the Funk Zone, the name Waterline was chosen as both appropriate and memorable. The logomark, a substantial and stylized anchor created from a letter “W” form, with a waterline graphically cut through the bottom of the image, quickly became its identity and applied to various fashionable merchandise, signage, and a large exterior WPA-inspired ocean tide mural.
